Newport, RI — The Newport Circle of Scholars, in partnership with the Edward King House Senior Center, proudly announces a special event, The Interview: Melissa King, to be held on Monday, May 12, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Edward King House with reception immediately to follow.
This intimate program features Melissa King, a descendant of Edward King, one of Newport’s most prominent figures during the pre-Gilded Age. This is a rare opportunity to gain a personal perspective on the legacy of the man whose name graces the historic Edward King House.
Attendees will enjoy stories that blend personal family insight with historical significance, offering a unique lens through which to view Newport’s rich past. From his contributions to commerce and community to the enduring cultural impact of his legacy, Melissa King’s reflections promise to engage and enlighten.
The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required due to limited seating.
