The Newport Circle of Scholars at the Edward King House is inviting proposals for new presenters for its upcoming Winter/Spring and Fall seasons for 2020.  The Newport Circle of Scholars is a non-profit volunteer organization that was created to provide lifelong learning programs for Newport County residents 50 years of age and older. Its programs are focused on both scholarly and general interest subjects such as history, literature, science, international events, health, and the arts. Its programs and instructor recruitment efforts are facilitated and coordinated by a Curriculum Committee, and its external relations and policy are guided by a Board of Directors.
Presenters are asked to engage seniors from the Edward King House membership and the public in a variety of settings—classes, workshops, research projects, seminars, roundtables, performances, etc.—all of which contribute to the intellectual vitality of the senior community at large. Presenters will be selected on the basis of the learning opportunities they offer as well as general interests. Presenters are offered a small honorarium for participating in this program.
The deadline for proposals for the 2020 season will be Friday, December 6, 2019.  Proposal applications can be found at www.edwardkinghouse.org under the NCOS tab.  For additional information call 401-846-7426 ext 4.
