Each class is sold in monthly bundles (individual classes are no longer available).  Refunds are not available.

Pilates with Emily (Live on Zoom)
Description: Its muscle-strengthening benefits mean that it is also very beneficial for over 50s. That’s because, as you get older, you start to lose muscle mass and engaging with a regular Pilates routine will help strengthen those muscles in the long-term  Dates: 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27  Time: 9:00am  

Aging Strong with ShipShape (Live on Zoom)
Description: Developed on the principles and teachings of Denise Medved’s Ageless Grace program. It is a cutting edge program based on neuroplasticity that activates all 5 functions of the brain (analytical, strategic, kinesthetic learning, memory/recall, creativity and imagination) and simultaneously addresses all 21 physical skills needed for lifelong optimal function. The movements are designed to be performed seated in a chair and can be performed with moderation, by anyone regardless of most physical conditions. The Aging Strong: Brain & Body class includes imagery, creativity, playfulness, variety, polarity, sound, expression, words and games…all done to fun music! Dates: 10/6, 10/13, 10/20  Time: 10:00am

Boxing Fitness with Karen Dulin (In Person Outdoors)
Description:Throwing punches is a fun way to stay strong and fit at any age, but it is especially beneficial for older adults. Come get moving with professional boxer Karen Dulin from Newport Boxfit. Boxing moves are great for cognitive function! Dates: 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27  Time: 10:00am

Chair Yoga with Lynne (Live on Zoom)
Description:In this time of the COVID-19 Virus, Chair Yoga via Zoom is a good opportunity to try it out or return to your practice; in your own home with your EKH yoga peers.  Movement and de-stressing will be key to these sessions.  Many yoga poses can be done using a chair and provide the potential to increase flexibility, balance, dexterity, focus and mental clarity. Classes will include basic yoga fundamentals such as breathing techniques; stretching and warm-ups; instruction of seated and standing poses with modifications; meditation and relaxation.   All levels of skill are welcome to attend.  All you need is a good stable chair on a non-slippery surface. Dates: 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27  Time: 11:00am

Intermediate Yoga with Andrea (In Person Outdoors)
Description: It is necessary to have some experience with yoga before you take intermediate yoga. Continue to explore the fundamentals of yoga as you learn to breathe and move deeply from within. Practice light movements with consciousness to build strength, balance, and flexibility and inner peace. Participants are required to bring their own mat and blocks and MUST arrive 30 minutes prior to the class for class safety preparations.   Dates: 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/28 Time: 9:00am

Gentle Yoga with Elizabeth (Live on Zoom)
Description:Recommended for all levels looking for a soothing, relaxing, and restorativeexperience, especially those newer to yoga or working with special concerns or injuries.Dates: 10/7, 10/21, 10/28  Time: 10:00am

Tai Chi with Kenji (Live on Zoom)
Description: Tai Chi is a slow and gentle exercise that is suitable for older adults, even if they are managing chronic conditions. It offers the benefits of flexibility, muscle strengthening, and endurance training. Tai Chi can improve the health of seniors without worsening existing impairments. Dates: 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/28  Time: 10:30am

Gyrokinesis with Katie  (In Person Outdoors)
Description: Gyrokinesis works on opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength and is a great way to help for seniors to stay active and healthy. The movement relieves stress, helps coordination and balance, and improves concentration.Dates: 10/15, 10/22, 10/29  Time: 4:00pm

Introduction to Zentangle

The Zentangle© Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. Zentangle is a registered trademark of Zentangle, Inc.  Presenters: Suzanne Bessin and Barbara Walton-Faria  This one day LIVE ZOOM workshop is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required.  Click the link in red above to register.

Materials Needed: Introductory Kit $5 (available for sale at the Edward King House) which includes a Micron PN, shading pencil, tortillon, and 2 Zentangle tiles. Call at 846-7426 ext 4 to set up an appointment to pick up and pay for your kit.

Or you can use your own materials to include a fine tip black pen or Micron 01 pen, piece of sturdy paper cut to 3 ½ inch square, pencil, and Q-tip for shading.
