Cooking with Savory Fare Thursday, September 10th at 2:30pm.   Presenter Bio: Food has been my life! From learning to cook with my mother at a young age to majoring in Foods and Nutrition in college, food has led me down many interesting paths. After college I worked as a nutritionist in neighborhood health centers in Washington DC and in Providence and followed that with a position as the RI State WIC Nutritionist where I trained other WIC nutritionists in ways to teach healthy eating principles to pregnant women, infants and young children. I’ve always loved cooking, finding really good recipes and sharing delicious food with others. When my son was in middle school I started a personal chef business preparing and delivering home cooked meals to families who were looking for a healthy convenient alternative to “takeout”. As I became a senior myself I realized for many of us having healthy accessible food could be the answer to more fully enjoying our senior years and possibly keeping us in our homes longer. So I started Savory Fare over 3 years ago at Hope & Main, a food incubator, in Warren RI. There our team has been preparing and delivering delicious fresh and frozen individual servings of dishes to our happy clients. During my personal chef years I taught monthly cooking classes at the Providence Art Club. Now with our current limitations, I am enjoying the opportunity of bringing others into my kitchen through zoom so we can spend time together sharing in the preparation of deliciousness of food!  -Mary Hughes
