Thursdays Pilates with Kathy from ShipShape (on Zoom) at 9am Its muscle-strengthening benefits mean that it is also very beneficial for over 50s. That’s because, as you get older, you start to lose muscle mass & engaging with a regular Pilates routine will help strengthen those muscles in the long-term. Must have camera on, participants will not be admitted after 9:10 Dates: Jan 11, 18, 25, Feb 1 Intermediate Boxing Fitness with Karen (in-person/indoors) at 10am This class is only for those who have taken Boxing Fitness here and have completed an Intermediate Boxing Assessment by the instructor. Throwing punches is a fun way to stay strong and fit at any age, but it is especially beneficial for older adults. Boxing moves are great for cognitive function.  Dates: Jan 11, 18, 25, Feb 1 Silver Age Chair Yoga with Carmen (IN PERSON) at 10:30am Silver Age Chair Yoga is a program designed to meet the special health needs of older adults. Safely participate at your own level of comfort. This is a gentle introduction to chair yoga. Seated chair postures as well as chair supported standing postures will be practiced. Bringing your own mat is required.  Dates: Jan 11, 18, 25, Feb 1 Keep Your Independence With Tommy @Donovan Manor (In Person/indoors) at 11:15am Description: Keep Your Independence through easy, fun movements designed to help you manage: stairs, chairs, cars, walking, balance and mind/body connections. This program is being offered at Donovan Manor in Newport.  Dates: Jan 11, 18, 25, Feb 1 The Alexander Technique with Mara (in-person/indoors) at 1pm The Alexander Technique addresses posture, poise and pain relief. It teaches you how to think differently about how you move and carry yourself. You don’t need any physical skill, just an open and curious mind. Must be fully vaccinated to participate.
